Earlier this week, the agent of Patriots wide receiver N'Keal Harry released a statement expressing his desire for a trade away from New England. Harry, who the Patriots took in the 1st round of 2019's NFL Draft, never found his footing in New England, catching only 42 balls for 414 yards and four touchdowns over career games. Now that his days playing for Bill Belichick seem numbered, is Harry someone the Chiefs should try and target? FanSided's National NFL reporter Matt Verderame called into The Drive on Thursday to answer:
"Look, if you're the Chiefs, this has to be the year that Mercole Hardman overtakes Demarcus Robinson, plays more than 45% of the snaps ..." Verderame said. "N'Keal Harry would come into Kansas City and immediately beat out Mercole Hardman. That's probably more of a bad thing than it is a good thing. I don't think I would look at that and say that's great. Well, yeah, sure, you upgraded the position, but that probably means you upgraded from a really low position to start with. The Chiefs like guys who are precise route runners, who are fast, who can get in and out of breaks. N'Keal Harry is none of that.
"Could the Chiefs do it? It does fit Brett Veach's m.o. ... but I'd be surprised. I don't think it moves the needle for them."
