Tamba Hali to retire a Chief after signing one-day contract

(610 Sports) -- The Kansas City Chiefs have signed Tamba Hali to a one-day contract, allowing him to retire with the team that drafted him 20th overall in the 2006 NFL Draft.

Hali hasn't played in the NFL since becoming a free-agent in 2018 but had left the door open for a potential return to the league, which seems to no longer be the case following his signing of the one-day contract with Kansas City.

Hali, a 6-time Pro Bowler, played 12 seasons for the Chiefs and appeared in 177 games, recording 592 tackles, 34 of those tackles for loss, 89.5 sacks, 32 forced fumbles with 8 fumble recoveries, one returned for a touchdown, 16 pass defenses, and recorded one safety.
