(610 Sports) -- Following a spring training in which he hit .289/.325/.526 across 40 plate appearances, including a 484 ft moon shot, Boby Witt Jr. was all the rage and in strong consideration to make the Royals opening day roster.
Conversely, Witt's minor league season got off to a relatively slow start at Northwest Arkansas, but that slow start seems to be behind him. Witt launched three homers on Sunday and is 6-for-12 with 4 homers over his last 3 games. Witt now has seven home runs and six steals in 23 games on the season.
While the club has been adamant that they won't rush Witt to the majors, it's getting harder and harder to make the case for not bringing up MLB's #7 overall prospect. Considering the struggles at the plate for Hunter Dozier and Jorge Soler, coupled with Adalberto Mondesi being dinged up again, the chances of seeing Witt Jr. sooner than later seems like a real possibility.
