(610 Sports) – “An ode to the past. A nod to the future.” The Kansas City Royals unveiled their newest uniform looks on Friday, featuring new colors, font and numbers. There were four uniform reveals in all, new home and road primary jerseys, as well as home and road alternates.
“We’re excited to introduce to our fans, our new uniform set for the 2022 season,” Royals Vice President/Major League Team Operations Jeff Davenport said. “These updates reflect fresh variations on our brand esthetic, that generations of Royals fans have come to identify with, while also offering newer classic looks to the overall uniform set. We see these as an ode to the traditions of the past yet refined and updated for inspiration of what’s to come.”
The road game uniforms will feature an updated "Kansas City" in a new font across the chest with no piping around the name or numbers.
Home game uniforms will still sport the iconic "Royals" across the front and like the road uniforms, the piping will be removed around the names, numbers and sleeve stripes.
The new Royals jerseys will become available on the team store starting on Black Friday at 8:00 a.m., they can also be pre-ordered for delivery in February.
