Royals fans got good news on Friday morning, as manager Mike Matheny gave a positive update about the health of starting shortstop Adalberto Mondesi:
Mondesi had been day-to-day most of the week, and was unavailable on Thursday after going through tests earlier that day. Though he's missed all but seven games in 2021, Mondesi's hit well when he's been available -- he's currently slashing .360/.360/.720 with a 1.080 OPS and two home runs in 25 at-bats.
