(670 The Score) Royals third baseman Hunter Dozier and White Sox star first baseman Jose Abreu are both day-to-day after leaving Friday afternoon's game following a scary collision.
Dozier suffered a quad contusion and was experiencing neck discomfort, while Abreu suffered a facial contusion, facial laceration, and bruised left knee when Dozier ran into Abreu while running out an infield pop-up. The initial assessment for a concussion for Abreu was negative, the team said.
For Dozier, the collision is another setback in a season in which he's already started slowly, hitting .140/.203/.342 with five home runs in 32 games.
The reigning American League MVP, Abreu entered the day hitting .240 with seven homers, 31 RBIs and a .793 OPS in 35 games.
