With the SEC now at 16 teams after the additions of Texas and Oklahoma, every team will play a nine-game conference schedule beginning in 2026. Playing a nine-game conference schedule and eliminating the East and West divisions will allow Missouri to face off against other SEC foes more frequently.
Under the previous schedule format, Missouri only faced SEC-West opponents Alabama, Ole Miss, Auburn, LSU, Mississippi State, and Texas A&M twice every 12 years.
Under the new 2026 schedule format, each school will face three permanent annual opponents and six rotating opponents each year. This new schedule will ensure that every SEC team will play against each other every two years in the regular season.
Missouri’s three annual opponents should all be familiar to Missouri fans. The Tigers annual opponents starting in 2026 will be Arkansas, Oklahoma, and Texas A&M. Missouri and Arkansas have played each other every season since Mizzou joined the SEC in 2012 in what’s known as the “Battle Line Rivalry”. While Oklahoma and Texas A&M are old Big 12 foes that Missouri has faced many times over the years.
Missouri has dominated the series against the Arkansas in recent years, holding a 9-2 record against the Razorbacks since joining the SEC. While Missouri has struggled against the Sooners (25-67-5) and Aggies (7-11).
Missouri’s remaining SEC opponents for 2026 include: Florida, Kentucky, Texas, Georgia, Ole Miss, and Mississippi State.
