Colchester’s Jomila Brackett set a huge goal for herself after two difficult pregnancies: run her first marathon. A former high school sprinter, Jomila started walking just five weeks postpartum, pushing her two children in a double stroller. Her husband even saved up to buy her a pair of running shoes to help her get started. Now she’s balancing marathon training with raising two young kids and sharing the journey on social media to encourage other parents. She’s already inspired friends and family to sign up for their first 5Ks.
At the end of Christine and Salt's interview with Jomila, Christine asked her to repeat two things: “I have met my hero” and “She is within me.” Because sometimes the person who inspires you most is the woman you discover you already are. Congratulations Jomila, our Badass Woman of the Week!
