Every week, Christine and Salt interview the Badass Woman of the Week, celebrating women who've conquered challenges and emerged stronger. The honoree receives an empowering B Badass bracelet from The Power to B and is showcased on-air Fridays at 7:15 AM with Christine and Salt.

This week, we’re celebrating not one—but two—incredible women who are blending family, community, and entrepreneurship in the most creative way.

Meet sisters Maria Rapp and Kiki Anderson, the powerhouse duo behind the soon-to-open Peek-A-Brew Play Café in Old Saybrook. Located at 118 Main Street, this innovative space is set to open in May and will bring a whole new vibe to the shoreline—a European-style café designed with families in mind.

Peek-A-Brew isn’t just about great coffee (though you’ll find that too). It’s a thoughtfully designed haven where parents can sip artisanal coffee and enjoy locally sourced baked goods while their kids explore a one-of-a-kind indoor play area. Think miniature grocery store, firehouse, and salon—all safe, enclosed, and bursting with imagination.

Maria and Kiki’s mission is simple but powerful: to create a community hub where adults can relax and recharge, and children can play, learn, and grow. Their vision combines style, function, and heart—making it a space that welcomes connection in every corner.

By turning a bold idea into a vibrant reality, Maria and Kiki are redefining what family-friendly spaces can look like—and doing it with grace, grit, and serious style.
