If you’ve spent any time scrolling Instagram or TikTok, there’s a good chance you’ve encountered Pancake — the English bulldog with a facial expression that somehow says, “I’m disappointed in you,” without saying a word. Pancake has become a social media star thanks to her attitude, her expressions and her ability to judge virtually every decision made by her human parents, Beth and Bruno. But now there’s been a major development in Pancake’s carefully controlled universe: She has a little brother. His name is Sushi, and suddenly the family of three is a family of four. Beth and Bruno joined Christine & Salt on 96.5 TIC to introduce us to Sushi and, more importantly, explain how Pancake is handling the shocking realization that she is no longer an only child.
We talked about how Sushi joined the family, the first meeting between the two bulldogs, their completely different personalities — and whether Pancake has filed a formal complaint with management yet. We also had to talk about THE HOUSE. If you follow Pancake, you’ve probably noticed Beth and Bruno’s home always looks gorgeous: modern and simple, but still incredibly warm and cozy — despite having two bulldogs living there. Beth also shared something we absolutely loved: they get help keeping it that way. In a social-media world where we constantly see beautiful homes, adorable pets and seemingly perfectly put-together lives, it’s easy to start wondering, “Why doesn’t MY house look like that?” So kudos to Beth for being transparent about getting help from a cleaning person. Of course, with Pancake and Sushi in the house, we’re guessing that immaculate condition lasts approximately 11 minutes.
