Ross Mathews is ready for the return of the RomCom
The Drew Barrymore Show co-host talks upcoming guests with Christine and Salt, and yes...King George drops by this week
Ross Mathews, co-host of The Drew Barrymore Show, is ready for the return of the RomCom. Ross chatted with Christine and Salt about, among other things, all the amazing guests stopping by The Drew Barrymore show this week and yes, King George is making an appearance to promote Ticket to Paradise opening this Friday. Ross decrees, "I think we need [RomComs] more than ever, hellooooooo!"
In Ticket to Paradise, Clooney and Julia Roberts play a divorced couple who travel to Bali to try and stop their daughter’s wedding. Ross adds, "I don't know if you've noticed, but it's been a rough few years...so here's what I need — Julia Roberts and George Clooney to do a RomCom, thank you so much!"
RomComs took a bit of a beating on social media over the past few years as people complained about the 'make-over' trope where a dowdy female star suddenly has value when she looks glamorous. Well, Ross has something to say about that too! "I love a make-over moment in a movie...like a Devil Wears Prada/Anne Hathaway [moment]...I remember when Sarah Jessica Parker/Carrie Bradshaw dyed her hair brown in the first Sex and the City movie...I let out a gay gasp in the theater...I was thrilled!"
