When asked by Bru about how his hometown of Doncaster impacts the Louis Tomlinson of today, the singer was quick to admit, "massively."

"I credit that place to a lot of who I am, like definitely my morals. I think also my lyrics, like I think the lyrics are naturally a bit more grounded and a bit direct. I would say that's a more northern approach for sure," he shares. "I've definitely tried to play around a bit more with metaphor on this record, but yeah, I think Doncaster is drenched in everything that I do, definitely."

As for that new album, Tomlinson recorded in Costa Rica this time around and found himself pushing towards something new and more authentically him. Something that Doncaster kid would certainly be proud of. "This record, and this sounds like the f***ing thing that you say to sell the record, it isn't, I'm not saying it for that reason, but this record is a real step in that direction in terms of what I deem as success. Just because I can feel myself, as I said, pushing boundaries and I'm coming from a much more confident standpoint."
