As the season of giving thanks approaches, it’s crucial to remember that not everyone has a table laden with food. This year, Christine and Salt checked in with Friendly Hands Food Bank Executive Director Karen Thomas, about their efforts to raise turkeys for food insecure folks here in Connecticut.
With a staggering 362,620 individuals, including 92,000 children, not having enough food in Connecticut, the need for community action has never been more urgent. The mission is simple but profound: Ensure everyone can enjoy a Thanksgiving meal.
Here’s How You Can Help:
Donate a Turkey: Friendly Hands Food Bank is collecting turkeys to distribute to families in need. Every turkey counts! You can drop off turkeys at the food bank, 50 King Street Torrington, CT 06790. Need more info, give em a call at (860) 482-3338 or drop an email here.
