The Met Brothers (Adam, Jack and Ryan) sat with Audacy to dish on their upcoming performance at the 2021 Billboard Music Awards, how their "Bang!" single changed their lives, what their first potential win means to them and more.
The trio will be making their BBMA debut at this year's show, and Jack reflected on one of their early performances were literally only three people showed up. "It was in a room that fit 2,000 people and we were expecting a lot of people to show up and truly only three people showed up. And it was this moment where we were like 'okay this is obviously where we have to start, so let's treat every show— no matter how many people are there— like there's a million people there and I think that trained us."
Funny enough, Ryan expressed that he was more nervous for that performance. "I think when you can see every person individually and know they're judging you— that's kind of the all-time low."
The band has been together for around 15 years, and they "never thought they'd be on an award show"— let alone the Billboard Music Awards. "Every little victory is so mind-blowing to us and we're so in awe that we're here," Jack revealed. The trio will be performing their hit singles, "Bang!" and "Way Less Sad" and are also nominated for three BBMAs: Top Duo/Group, Top Rock Artist and Top Rock Song.
Find out what they had to say about their potential first award win above and watch the 2021 Billboard Music Awards, airing live on Sunday, May 23 at 8PM ET / 5PM PT on NBC, to see if these finalists will come out on top.
