Ah, I remember my first beer.
A drunken Wisconsin teen made the hilarious mistake of stumbling into an Airbnb and passing out.
Now you might say, “Oh come on, you’ve never done that?” Maybe, but this Airbnb was occupied by three sleeping sheriffs. And one of the officers went and posted a TikTok clip describing the whole ridiculous affair.
As explained via the New York Post on Monday, the three sheriffs were visiting downtown Milwaukee from Montana, in town for some vehicle training. After getting roused from their sleep around 2:30 a.m., they noticed the backdoor open, went upstairs, and there, like some pickled Goldilocks, lay the passed-out 19-year old.
In the clip, deputy Charles Pesola -- who filmed and posted the TikTok -- selfies himself describing the tale as his co-cop pals laugh along. The odd juxtaposition of the cop’s grinning storytelling, shots of the kid in cuffs, all while goofy music bops along in the background makes for a very odd scene, in light of our usual viral cop arrest videos of the last year.
The surprised visiting cops called 911 to get the local authorities to come take care of the kid, whose hungover response in the video doesn’t shed much light on his actions: “No, this is a first for that, I’ve woken up in random places.”
The authorities recognized the silliness of the situation and let the guy off with a warning. Pesola noted, “What if that dude stumbled into a bed with a kid or my wife? I mean, it could have been a different morning, right? So, wrong place, wrong time [but] lucky place, lucky time, that there’s dudes that actually know how to handle that.”
While in just about any other situation, cops filming a cuffed perp, laughing about it, and then posting it on TikTok might be seen as, at the least, questionable, Pesola explained, “Cops have a hard time right now. And when they can see we’re still having fun and still real people and we’re good, it’s a good thing.”
