The CW has announced their blue, pink, and green cast members for “The Powerpuff Girls” live-action pilot: Chloe Bennet, Dove Cameron, and Yana Perrault.

The new reboot, based on the original Cartoon Network animated series created by Craig McCracken, follows the crime fighting teenagers Blossom, Bubbles, and Buttercup. Now that they’re in the twenties, the heroines have reunited for the ultimate dream team.

29-year-old Chloe Bennet, known for her role in Marvel’s “Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D” is set to play the Blossom Utonium, the spunky, “perfect” child whose childhood superhero trauma has led her to lead again, but this time on her own terms, Deadline reports. Bennet is also known for her role as Hailey on the popular country drama “Nashville.”

Dove Cameron, 25, who appeared in the film series “Descendants” and also won a Daytime Emmy Award for her role in the Disney Channel series “Live and Maddie," is set to play Bubbles Utonium, the sweet and gentle one of the group with an unexpected toughness and wit.

The third Powerpuff Girl, Buttercup Utonium, will be played by Yana Perrault, a musical artist who was recently seen on Broadway in the musical “Jagged Little Pill.” Before the pandemic, Perrault was expected to join the cast of the Broadway show “Hamilton.” Her character, Buttercup, is the rebellious Powerpuff Girl with a tough exterior.

Original show creator McCracken will executive produce the pilot alongside Heather Regnier (“Veronica Mars” and “Sleepy Hollow”), Greg Berlanti, Diablo Cody (“Juno”), and Maggie Kiley.

At this point the project is in the pilot stage, so it's still unknown if The CW will give it a full series order.
