WESTPORT, Conn. (WTIC Radio) - Westport First Selectwoman Jen Tooker suspends her campaign for Governor in Connecticut in 2026.
She says in a statement Friday morning the decision came after "very serious thought and deliberation."
Tooker believes the voters need more time to get to know her and that she needs more time to get to know them.
Issues her campaign sought to address included cost-of-living, holding state government more accountable, and growing the state's "sluggish" economy, according to her Friday statement.
Tooker says she'll explore other avenues in which she can remain on the ballot for November of 2026.
