
West Haven, Conn./WTIC Radio - Another co-conspirator in the scheme to defraud West Haven out of hundreds of thousands of dollars in federal Covid-19 relief funds has been sentenced.
Lauren Dimassa, wife of former Democratic state representative and city employee Michael Dimassa, gets six months behind bars.
Her sentence will be followed by of five years supervised release.
As part of the scheme, Michael Dimassa submitted fraudulent invoices to West Haven for a number of services related to a Youth Violence Prevention Program and for Youth Violence COVID-19.
The vouchers requested payment vouchers totaling over $147,000 be made to Lauren Dimassa who never performed any of the services.
Michael Dimassa pleaded guilty last year to three counts of fraud and is awaiting sentencing.
Former city employee John Bernardo was sentenced earlier this week for his role in the scheme.
