
Old Saybrook, Conn./WTIC Radio - An arrest has been made in a boating accident on the Connecticut River in Old Saybrook last year that left three people dead.
State environmental conservation police are charging Clayton Hackling, 26, of Lyme.
They say on September 2nd of last year, Hackling was operating a vessel that crashed near the outer breakwall at the mouth of the Connecticut River.
In addition to the three people killed, six were rescued from the water that night.
Hackling turned himself in and was taken into custody Wednesday by state police.
He's charged with manslaughter with a vessel, reckless operation of a vessel under the influence, and other offenses.
Hackling is due in court January 28 after his release on a $350,000 bond.
