Arrest made in fatal Waterbury hit and run

Waterbury, Conn./WTIC Radio - Police in Waterbury have made an arrest in a fatal hit and run crash from Wednesday evening.

Under arrest is 43-year-old Herbert Kusko of Waterbury.

According to investigators, the victim was found in the area of Meriden Road and Pierpont Road just before 6:30 p.m.

Thirty-year-old Jaemar Dillard of Waterbury was rushed to St. Mary's Hospital and later pronounced dead.

According to police, they located the suspect vehicle, a 2001 Subaru Legacy along with Kusko at his residence on Hitchcock Road.

He is charged with Evading Responsibility - Causing Serious Physical Injury and Failure to Drive in Proper Lane.

Kusko posted a $75,000 bond and is due in court March 21.

Police say additional charges are pending.
