Milford, Conn./WTIC Radio - There's been an arrest in connection with a street takeover in Milford last month in which a city police officer was assaulted.
Police say a juvenile was taken into custody on Monday.
The arrest stems from the incident in the wee hours of December 9.
A large crowd, estimated at over 100 individuals, gathered in a supermarket parking lot on Bridgeport Avenue.
The officer was confronted by the unruly mob, including a male in a red puffer-style jacket who hurled a shopping cart at the officer.
A foot chase ensued in which the officer was assaulted from behind during an attempted arrest.
A warrant was issued and executed for the suspect, whose name was not released because of his age.
The suspect faces a slew of charges, including criminal attempt at assault of a public safety personnel, interfering with a police officer, and riot in the first degree, among others.
