Waterbury, Conn./WTIC Radio - Waterbury police have made an arrest in connection with a hit-and-run crash last week.
Former zoning board chairman John Egan, 58, is charged.
It was May 26 that police say they were dispatched to the area of West Main Street and Highland Avenue on a report of a hit-and-run involving a scooter.
The 17-year-old victim, also from Waterbury, sustained life threatening injuries and remains in critical condition at Connecticut Children's Medical Center in Hartford.
Police say Egan was driving a 2022 Cadillac XT5 when he hit the teen. The vehicle was later found abandoned.
He faces charges of evading responsibility causing serious physical injury or death and failure to yield while turning left.
Egan is free on $50,000 bond and is due in court June 12.
