Groton, Conn./WTIC Radio - A man is in the hospital and a suspect is in custody after Groton police say the 46-year-old victim was assaulted in a parking lot Monday morning.
Just after 10:30, officers were dispatched to the Stonington Institute 618 Poquonnock Road where they found the victim unconcious.
He was taken to Lawrence and Memorial Hospital, and then airlifted to Yale New Haven Hospital for treatment of serious head injuries.
Charged in the attack is Antwan Strickland, 31, of Hartford.
Police say Strickland confronted, then struck the victim, causing him to fall to the ground.
Strickland is charged with assault and breach of peace.
He's being held on $750,000 bond and is due in court on Tuesday.
