Wolcott, Conn. (WTIC Radio)-Police are investigating after at least 42 car break-ins were reported between Thursday night and Friday morning, Police Chief Edward Stephens said.
Stephens said he expects the numbers to increase as people venture out and discovery their valuables have been stolen. Suspects primarily targeted an elderly complex on Wolfs Hill Road.
The Chief said he expects multiple suspects are involved. They face Burglary and Criminal Mischief charges. But Stephens said the thieves are becoming more brazen because the laws are too lenient. He and other chiefs have implored the legislature to make changes.
