HARTFORD, Conn. (WTIC Radio) - Connecticut's two U.S. Senators are against a short-term funding bill that would end the Governor Shutdown.

Both Senators Richard Blumenthal and Chris Murphy are pushing back on the plan, citing concerns about longer term funding for healthcare.

Senator Richard Blumenthal commented that if there's "...no affordable healthcare, no deal."

Senator Chris Murphy echoes a similar sentiment, saying "...republicans have said they will discuss putting off the premium increases they set in motion once the government opens. If it does open, I hope they are true to their word. If they are not, and millions suffer as their health care costs double - all to finance a giant tax cut for billionaires and corporations - voters will know who to blame."
