Storrs, Conn./WTIC Radio - The remains of a Storrs woman who went missing two years ago in Japan have been identified by her family.
Pattie Wu-Murad had gone out on a hike April 10, 2023.
She never returned.
In the ensuing months and years, the family worked with officials in trying to locate her.
Search crews scoured the trail where Wu-Murad was thought to be.
A year-and-a-half after her disappearance, a fisherman discovered a backpack and a shoe at a different trail.
A femur was also found, later confirming her identity through DNA testing.
