Catching up with her old friend, Bebe dove into the global impact of her album, Dirty Blonde, her ongoing artistic collaboration with David Guetta, and the emotions behind tracks like “One Day.”

"I always wanted to write a song about when you get broken up with, so I got broken up with and I was like super in love and it was really hard for me, like super hard,” she shares. “I just want to write a song called ‘One Day’ about, he's not going to be able to escape me. He's going to hear me everywhere. He's going to see me everywhere and I think it's OK to have a little bit of revenge.”

Rexha continues to pour herself into her work, and with it has come confidence, in the great tradition of empowered artists like Dolly Parton.

“I love what I do,” explains Bebe. “What I loved about Dolly was that I feel like she was always working and she became bigger than her music. She always had a story to tell and where she came from and she never backed down from who she was.”

“She's a very big inspiration to me. So for me it's like, I just love what I do and I think with age… I think you become more confident and I think for me now, even musically, like I'm writing new music now and I'm like, what's next and what do I want to say.”

“I feel like I'm in a different place lyrically where I can really go in on subjects and that's what I'm hoping to do next. I'm so excited for the future.”
