New London, Conn./WTIC Radio - New London police are investigating after they say a dog was found dead over the weekend in a trash bag.
The find was made Saturday, police said, in the area of Gallows Lane and Williams Street just before 2:00 p.m. after they were alerted by a motorist.
Police say the canine is a male, compact, toy-sized dog, tan and black in color.
The investigation is active and ongoing and police are asking anyone with information to contact New London Animal Control.
There have been over a half dozen reports of dead dogs being found in various parts of the state since the start of the new year.
