Driver charged with speeding through school zones

Montville, Conn./WTIC Radio - In Montville, a man is facing charges he was clocked driving over 100 mph in a school zone on Monday.

Police have arrested Cameron Riviera, 23, for driving recklessly in the area of St. Bernard's High School on Route 32.

An officer doing speed enforcement recorded Riviera's BMW traveling at 105 mph.

The officer notified a second officer about a mile north of their location.

The second officer conducted a traffic stop after Riviera had passed through two school zones.

In addition to reckless driving, Riviera is charged with speeding in a school zone and failure to renew registration.

He's due in court in Norwich November 18.
