Farmington, Conn./WTIC Radio - Police in Farmington are investigating a crash this afternoon along a busy stretch of road in town.
Route 6 east was shut down at Birdseye Road.
Officers say several patients were transported from the scene of the two-vehicle crash with serious injuries.
Detours were set up down Finenemann and Birdeye Roads.
Route 6 west was closed at Wolfpit Road, according to a release from Farmington police.
In addition, Interstate 84 eastbound exit 38 traffic was detoured to South Road and then Birdseye Road.
Anyone who may have witnessed the crash is asked to call farmington police.
