Fatal pedestrian vs. motor vehicle crash in West Hartford under investigation

West Hartford, Conn./WTIC Radio - A man is dead and police are investigating a fatal car-versus-pedestrian crash from Sunday night in West Hartford.

Detectives say just before 10:00 p.m. they, along with fire and EMS were dispatched to the intersection of New Britain Avenue and South Main Street.

They say the pedestrian, identified at Stephen Mendelsohn, 63, of New Britain, was unresponsive and later pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver involved in the crash, Alexis Wilson, 28, of Bristol remained at the scene and was cooperating with investigating officers.

West Hartford police are asking anyone who may have witnessed the crash or who might have additional information to give them a call.
