Hartford police arrest teen in homicide investigation

HARTFORD, Conn. (WTIC Radio) - Hartford police have made an arrest in a homicide investigation involving two teenage boys.

On May 31, Hartford officers responded to a shots fired report in the area of 152 Amherst Street.

Officers located a victim suffering from gunshot wounds upon arrival, police said.

The victim, Makhi Buckly, 19, of Hartford, was transported to Hartford Hospital for treatment, police said, where he was later pronounced dead.

After the Hartford Police Major Crimes and Crime Scene Divisions investigated the shooting, detectives developed probable cause to charge Jaquan Graham, 19, of Hartford with the homicide, officials said.

Graham was in custody on firearm charges since the incident, according to police. He was arraigned on a murder charge while incarcerated.

He is being held on a $2.5 million judge-set bond.
