HARTFORD, Conn. (WTIC Radio) - The city of Hartford is bringing some holiday cheer to the vacant storefronts of the historic Pratt Street with the inaugural launch of Winterfair, a holiday market event.
The 23-day market will feature around a hundred different small businesses of artists, crafts-makers and other creatives who will be showcasing their goods in the storefronts and at pop-up kiosks alongside food trucks and retail shops.
"We've all got a lot of holiday shopping to do, but if you're sick of just clicking on the computer and you want to be in a real store with real people, this is a chance to do it with some great local, small businesses in downtown Hartford," city Mayor Luke Bronin said.
Given the strain the COVID-19 pandemic has put on small businesses, Bronin is encouraging residents to show small business owners some support this holiday season.
The vendors will also be set up on Trumbull Street and they'll be open through the end of December on select weekdays and weekends, mainly Thursdays through Sundays.
