Middletown, Conn./WTIC Radio - State Police say they have identified a homicide victim in Ledyard who was killed over 50 years ago.
Investigators say skeletal remains found on May 30, 1974 were those of Linda Sue Childers of Kentucky.
Two victims were found in a shallow grave.
State police obtained the location of the remains from the witness to a double homicide that occurred on December 31st, 1970.
Investigators say information was entered into the National Missing and Unidentified Persons System.
DNA was extracted and used to make the positive identification of Childers.
Childers' sister was located and her daughter provided a DNA sample which was also used for the ID.
