
Hartford, Conn./WTIC Radio - Governor Lamont has signed bipartisan legislation to strengthen gun laws in Connecticut.
The bill came with input from mayors, police chiefs, advocates and prosecutors among others, he said.
"I'm very pleased to be signing an act addressing gun violence," said Lamont.
"It's very important we keep our communities safe", Lamont added as he put pen to paper.
The measure addresses loopholes in the assault weapons ban.
In addition, it also bans the open carry of firearms in public, updates the 2019 ghost gun ban, expands safe storage laws, and expands the prohibiition of gun sales under age 21 to no more than five rounds.
