Waterbury, Conn./ WTIC Radio - A woman is in critical condition and a man is under arrest following a shooting Thursday night in Waterbury.
The call came in just before 11:00 p.m. on a reported assault at 210 Berkeley Avenue.
A 44-year-old woman was suffering from multiple gunshot wounds and is currently in critical but stable condition at an area hospital.
Under arrest is John Irizary, 56, of Waterbury.
Police say some type of domestic dispute led up to the shooting.
The woman's 22-year-old son called 911.
Irizary is charged with criminal attempt at murder, assault, criminal use of a firearm, and other offenses.
Bond was set at $1 million.
Police say Irizary is a convicted felon who should not have been in possession of firearms.
