Bristol, Conn./WTIC Radio - Bristol police have arrested a man for allegedly trying to pick up two young girls at a local shopping plaza in January.

Sixty-six-year-old Robert Darche is charged.

Detectives say they responded to the Farmington Avenue Dollar Tree in the Bristol Plaza back on January 11 after the ten-and 11-year-old girls told their parents Darche showed them money and asked them to follow him to his car.

Investigators obtained video footage of the suspect's vehicle with a decal similar to one thought to be on Darche's car.

They also say Darche was captured on video following and approaching the children inside the Dollar Tree store.

Darche faces charges of attempted kidnapping.

He's being held on $150,000 bond.
