Danbury, Conn./WTIC Radio - State police say one person died and two others were injured in a weekend crash on Interstate 84 in Danbury.

According to investigators, 77-year-old Mariano Canales-Hernandez was hit just before 4:00 p.m. Sunday in the eastbound lanes near exit 4.
Troopers say Canales-Hernandez was attempting to cross the highway from the median when he was struck by a 2016 Honda Fit.
He was rushed to Danbury Hosital where he was pronounced dead.
The driver of the vehicle and a passenger sustained what police called "possible injuries".
State police ask anyone who may have information on the crash to contact the Troop A barracks in Southbury.
