Middletown, Conn./WTIC Radio - Two people are in critical condition following an early Thursday morning crash on Route 9 in Middletown.
State and local police responded to the scene a little after 5:00 a.m. at Route 9 and Miller Street for a two-vehicle crash.
The driver and a passenger in a Toyota Corolla sustained life threatening injuries and were taken to Hartford Hospital.
Police say the passenger was ejected from the vehicle through the windshield.
The driver of a Nissan Rouges sustained non life-threatening injuries to the stomach and lower extremities and is in stable condition at Middlesex Hospital.
A preliminary investigation shows the driver of the Toyota was exiting Miller Street attempting to cross southbound Route 9 when the driver collided with the Rouge, according to police.
The investigation is ongoing.
