Officers say around 10:45 last night, they responded to an area at Fairview Avenue and Arch Street on a report of shots fired.
When they arrived they found the 22-year-old male victim, a Hamden resident, dead at the scene.
Detectives say they recovered multiple handguns along with ballistic evidence.
Anyone with any information is being asked to contact Hamden police.
