
NEW HAVEN, Conn. (WTIC Radio) - New Haven Police arrested a teacher in connection with an assault on a student on Wednesday.
Officers responded to a call reporting an assault at the Truman School on Truman Street around 12:20 p.m. on Wednesday.

A teacher, Paul Vercillo, 46, allegedly assaulted a student.
The student sustained minor injuries and was released to his parents.
Vercillo was arrested and taken to the New Haven Police Department.
Vercillo is charged with third-degree assault, risk of injury to a minor, and disorderly conduct.
Bond is $20,000.
