New Haven, Conn. (WTIC Radio) - A teacher in New Haven is being charged with assault after police say he was involved in an altercation with a student on Monday.
Police said around 2:19 p.m., they received calls regarding an assault at Edgewood School.
Officers learned of the confrontation involving Deron Beasley, 42, and the student in a classroom.
The student was treated for minor injuries and subsequently released to a parent.
Beasley was arrested and booked at New Haven police headquarters.
He is facing charges if risk of injury, reckless endangerment, and assault.
Bond was set at $15,000.
