Rocky Hill, Conn./WTIC Radio - The state inspector general has issued a report on an officer involved fatal shooting at a car wash in West Haven last year.

The report finds the three officers, one of whom is a state police sergeant, were justified in using deadly force on Jebrell Conley.

It was September 19th, 2024 when they attempted to arrest Conley, 36, on an outstanding warrant stemming from robbery and firearms charges.

Task Force officers were informed that Conley was at a car wash on Ella T. Grasso Boulevard in West Haven that day and attempted to block him in with their vehicles.

Three officers approached, attempting to remove Conley from the vehicle.

Conley, the report says, fired through the driver's side window, after which three officers opened fire, unleashing at least a dozen rounds.

The report states the officers believed their lives were in jeopardy and used force to protect themselves.
