Two arrested in West Hartford shooting

West Hartford, Conn./WTIC Radio - West Hartford police have arrested a pair of suspects in connection with a shooting incident in town Wednesday afternoon.

Officers were called to the scene at 134 Hillcrest Avenue just before 3:00 p.m. on a report of shots fired.

They say one person was found suffering from non life-threatening injuries and taken to the hospital for treatment.

Richard Aponte, 19, of West Hartford is facing charges including unlawful discharge of a firearm, possession of a firearm without a permit and possession of a high capacity magazine among others.

Also arrested was Dechon Jones, 32, of West Hartford.

He is charged with unlawful discharge, reckless endangerment and attempted assault.

Bonds for both suspects were set at $750,000.

Police did not indicate exactly who was shot or what the circumstances were leading up to the incident.
