Storrs, Conn./WTIC Radio - A fraternity at UConn has been suspended pending the outcome of an alleged hazing investigation.
Lambda Theta Phi has been "suspended and must cease operations", says the university.
The incident occurred off campus.
The action comes in light of the arrest of the fraternity's past president David Vallejo by UConn police.
He was arrested on Tuesday and state police are now also charging Vallejo with disorderly conduct, assault and strangulation.
State police say Vallejo allegely held his forearm to the ncek of someone who owed him money, causing the victim to not be able to breath.
He's free on bond and due in court May 21st.
