
WATERBURY, Conn. (WTIC Radio) - Waterbury Police have arrested a man from Florida who possessed a firearm without a valid permit while in the city late Sunday night.
Officers heard several gun shots at around 10:22 p.m. while actively patrolling the area of Woodlawn Terrace due to recent criminal activity, police said.

While investigating, officers located a suspicious vehicle with Davius Israel Johnson, 19, of Florida at the wheel.
Police found Johnson to be in the possession of a loaded Taurus 9mm firearm without a valid pistol permit, officers said.
Officers arrested him on charges of Possession of a Pistol without a Permit, Weapons in Motor Vehicle, Possession of High Capacity Magazine and Illegal Sale or Transfer of a Firearm.
The police department held Johnson on a $100,000 bond pending court arraignment Monday.
