A slice of pizza is hard to turn down, regardless of how it’s being served. With many restaurants closing in 2020 pizza fans had to get creative when ordering their favorite meal. For one man in Philadelphia, he decided to help the cause by making his own pizza and dropping it out of his window to customers, in order to remain at a safe distance.
Ben Berman went viral recently after raising 30k making pizza from home since March. The grad student uses a pulley to safely lower slices to the ground from his second story apartment. "I realized I could make people smile by dropping slices of pizza out my window, and that was really the original idea,” said Berman. The pizzas are homemade, with Berman making dough, the sauce and the final pizza over the course of three days.
Instead of money, Berman asks his customers to make a charitable donation instead. “Donations that have come in through people from all over the world, people without any expectation of ever trying pizza," said Berman. This may lead to a new career path for the student.
