Taxpayer Protection Act: Federal aid that will help states with recovery from COVID not bailouts

US Representative Darin LaHood filed a law to the US House protecting taxpayers from having to pay for state bailouts and local debt.

He wanted to ensure that any federal money coming to the state will be used to help essential government services during the pandemic. He made sure that the Taxpayer Protection Act would not allow blank-check bailouts to states that have been mismanaged or accumulating debt before COVID-19.
