‘There is no politics in this issue, viruses don’t know about politics’ says Fox News Medical correspondent

(KFTK) – Fox News Medical correspondent and NYU Professor of Medicine, Dr Marc Siegel, says public health officials are trying to stop coronaviris from getting a foothold in the US.

"If it gets a foothold here, it's going to recur seasonally, even if it doesn't make it through the summer, we may see it back in the fall.  We may see it back in the spring, " says Siegel.

The number of people around the world who are contracting the coronavirus is growing.

“This looks like it is very contagious. Probably not as deadly as your listeners believe it is,” Dr. Marc Siegel said.

Dr. Siegel said we are making a grave messaging mistake right now which is why are we going on the alert for this virus and not for the flu?

“We are trying to avoid community spread,” he said on what our focus needs to be so that we don’t end up with an endemic.

When we hear the numbers coming from the news we start to question if they are accurate.

Siegel said most of the experts studying this virus believe the numbers are actually higher than what we have been told.
