With the United Nations Security Council voting to let an arms embargo expire in October, President Trump and Secretary of State Mike Pompeo are exploring other options to continue pressuring Iran.
China and Russia voted against it and 11 out of the 15 member nations abstained from voting altogether.
Jim Carafano from Heritage discussed why the Obama administration completely messed up by alleviating some sanctions with Iran.
"Obama gave them a jail-out-of-free card," he said.
He said the strategy led by Pompeo has been a practical way to handle the Middle East.
